This is Johnny Bokelo from 1982, his second LP on the Abijan/R.C.I. located Star (Shakara) label. On this label was Nguashi's LP from that same year which I've posted last year. Enjoy!

This one is for Alastair: Thank you for your Docteur Nico Discography (to order go here).
The two compositions by Kwamy and Nico with Orchestre African Fiesta were released in 1966 on VITA 123 / African 90.018 - they are not jet listed in Nico's discography.
As I've just ripped three older African singles I must say that every piece is so different, very exciting, very surprising. I hope you will enjoy them too! They will come soon. Here is 90.018.
And here is the birth of another Virunga mountain - very hot!

Where is my time to rip and post some more music? Actually I can't find.
But as I see so much good music presented elsewhere and as I see that most visitors are interested in Congolese music I will offer you here number 5 out of six (singles) I've got from Goma in 1980 while passing some weeks in Gisenyi/Rwanda. With my friend Emmanuel Nkurunzizi we took some money together, he crossed the border and came back with a dozen singles. We shared them - with the result that I came home with six singles full of dust and dirt.
Enjoy Zaiko Langa Langa.
As some blogs actually presented Orchestre Virunga, here are the Virunga mountains. More pictures from these mountains will come!

Trombone in UK 1980s pop music meant, after Rico left the UK for several years, Annie Whitehead. She played with the latest 2Tone projects (Starvation, Wind of Change), she played with Robert Wyatt, The Penguin Cafe Orchestra, with Working Week and Jazz Jamaica All Stars - among others.
This one is her first solo album from 1985. Hope you enjoy! There was a CD re-issue in 2001 but I think it isn't available any more.
