Orchestre Mokito (African 90.831)

Orchestre Mokito is completely unknown to me. the two tracks have defintely their respective quality. And they are quite different.

So enjoy this on a wonderful Sunday morning - here in Europe we have sunshine, + 20°C and blossoming of many trees.

If you know something about Mokito, please leave me a comment. Enjoy! Link and pass in the comment section.

Pamelo Mounk'a - The Come Back

Not the best comeback. But as we all love his voice (hope so) here is his last (?) LP, recorded ca. 1990. Back cover with recommendations for a new hairdresser and a restaurant in Paris. If they will exist after more than 20 years? Pamelo Mounk'a's music will for sure.

Enjoy! Link in the comments; pass JamaRico.

Orchestre Conga de la Capitale (African 90.618)

Ok, some more from Johnny Bokelo here.

The link has moved to the comment section. Pass is: jamarico - sorry for inconvenience.

The Toure-Raichel-Project

First time that I share a suggestion to listen to a new record. I like Idan Raichel and I like his US label Cumbancha (I enjoyed very much Rupa & The April Fish). More on the new record here.

It's completely relaxed. Almost unbelievable that this record was made in Israel, sorry it was recorded in Tel Aviv.

I decided to contact IPFI with the following lines:

Please inform me on the owner of the copyright for music on the above mentioned 7" single.

Thank you in advance.

Some hours later they gave me this answer:

Dear Sirs

We believe after investigation this artist belongs to Soukous African Music

What's Soukous African Music about? Who is this?

My next question:

Dear Sirs,

thank you for your immediate reaction. But I can't identify "Soukous African Music" as a legal entity owning copyright on Johnny Bokelo's music.

And their answer:

Dear Sirs

We do not cover this artist therefore we are unable to help

Thank you

I didn't want their help. But I didn't want that they delete my files!

I'll re-up and hope that this will be a single case!

African Hits Vol. 3

Here is No. III of our series of "African Hits" tapes from the 1980s Rwandan market.

This edition has a strong focus on Cameroun as Sam Fan Thomas came out with his well known hit album in 1983. We also have Tamwo Isidore and Moni Bile, both fron Cameroun, as well as Souzy Kasseya from Congo and Akendengue from Gaboun.
