Mbongeni Ngema - Time To Unite

My tiny contribution to the world of South African music shared may be followed by this album by Mbongeni Ngema recorded in the US while Sarafina! was shown in New York. It was in the wake of Paul Simon's hugh "Graceland" success, when Warner released records by Miriam Makeba and Ladysmith Black Mambazo.

I couldn't find this one commercially available, so I decided to share it with you. Enjoy!

Orchestre Impala de Kigali -Vol. 6

This is Vol. 6 from Orchestre Impala; we already had Vols 1, 3 and a compilation tape. Again 60 minutes, as in Rwanda they used mostly C60 tapes for duplication.

There are nine tracks on the tape, 8 are indicated on the cover. Anyway: Enjoy this one too!

I tried to contact some people who have written on Orchestre Impala in Kinyarwanda (here and here) but haven't got any reaction until now.

L'Orchestre l'Os Backy - Ebongi Mona Na Miso / Jeanne Muana Senegalaise (African 90.410 B)

If you don't have time - but an African single in the pipeline, share it. It's as always a pleasure to listen to.
A-side: Emany et l'Orchestre l'Os Backy - Ebongi Mona Na Miso
B-side: Didios et l'Orchestre l'Os Backy - Jeanne Muana Senegalaise

This one's from 1970 or so. Enjoy!

But please, if you know anything about this orchestre and it's composers, share it with us!

Los Nickelos - Meveilles du Passé 1966 (African 360.157)

Here is another African LP. I can't tell you much about Los Nickelos. This LP is from 1986, the music may be from 1966 as the title indicates?!

But it's worth a listen, at least! Some songs are also on YouTube. Enjoy this LP!
